Samet Yıldırım

I am a lecturer working on the teaching of computer programming, educational technology and learning experience design. I serve as Head of the Computer Programming Program at the Vocational School of Information Technologies, Istanbul Esenyurt University, where I teach programming, web technologies and databases.

I am pursuing my doctorate in Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) at Bursa Uludağ University. My interests include novice programmers' misconceptions, interaction in video-based learning environments, and project-based learning in vocational higher education.

Teaching approach

My courses are built around short conceptual talks, live-coding sessions and weekly mini projects. The aim is for students to learn not just syntax, but the habit of decomposing a problem and testing a solution. Weekly plans, video lectures and materials are published on this site.

Programs are written first for people to read; that machines can execute them is a happy by-product.
